Spiking Neural Networks and Applications

Scope:

This session focuses on modeling, learning algorithms, and hardware implementation of Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs), a biologically-inspired alternative to traditional artificial neural networks.

Topics Include (but are not limited to):

• Cortical modeling using SNNs
• Learning rules and plasticity in SNNs
• Predictive coding mechanisms
• Neuromorphic computing and implementations
• Robotics applications using SNNs

Motivation:

SNNs offer a more energy-efficient and biologically plausible approach to learning systems compared to conventional ANNs. With increasing interest in neuromorphic architectures and predictive models, this session seeks to advance theoretical and applied research in this emerging domain.
